Xcede have partnered with a rapidly scaling AI company, valued around $𝟑𝐁 after a fresh $𝟑𝟓𝟎𝐌 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐃, is hiring a Staff Product Engineer. They build the orchestration and infrastructure layer behind 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞-𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐈, its platform has powered over 𝟏 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 for global brands in financial services, insurance, telecom, travel and retail.

Business users build the AI agents on the platform. You build what the platform doesn’t cover yet for a given customer: the last connection into their systems, or a capability that doesn’t exist yet. A working prototype is where an engagement starts, not where it ends. Some accounts run for years, others are short experiments where you decide quickly whether an idea is worth building. At Staff level you take the hardest of both, with more ambiguity and no less hands-on work. This is an 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐫 role, so you’ll write and review code every week.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠:

• Lead the hardest 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, making architecture decisions that span the platform and the customer’s organisation.
• Build what the platform doesn’t cover: systems of record, 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐭-𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, state management, 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢-𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and retrieval.
• 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐲 and decide whether an idea is worth pursuing before the company invests a full quarter in it.
• Own 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲: evals, observability, incident playbooks, and the PII, access control and audit standards a regulated customer expects.
• Grow the account, drive the second use case and the renewal, and flag what you build when it belongs in the core product.
• 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫 other engineers, set the delivery standard on complex accounts and help with hiring.
• Represent the company with customer principal engineers, architects and security leaders, and set the standard for how 𝐀𝐈-𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 is validated before it reaches production.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫:

• 𝟖+ 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 of professional software development, fluent in 𝐓𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭 𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧 (or able to get there quickly).
• 𝟓+ 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 leading architecture of large-scale production systems in customer-facing or enterprise environments, with a focus on reliability, scale and failure modes.
• Experience leading 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜, 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜-𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 in production, and knowing when a coding agent’s output is wrong and what checks it needs before it ships.
• A track record owning a 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 over several years, or testing new ideas at the frontier and deciding quickly whether they were worth building.
• Comfort with ambiguity and senior customer stakeholders, and up to 𝟐𝟓% 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥 to customer sites.

𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞:

• An 𝐋𝐋𝐌-𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 used by real users, plus evals, RAG or multi-agent experience.
• A 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠-𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫 background.
• 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝-𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐝, solutions engineering or product engineering experience at an enterprise software or AI company.
• 𝐕𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐈 or contact-centre integration experience.
• Experience in 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 such as banking, insurance or telecom.
