About the role

The position is responsible for overseeing construction work on two projects to ensure compliance with environmental prevention and mitigation measures, and environmental impact monitoring measures according to approved EIA/IEE reports and relevant environmental laws, in order to reduce impacts on marine and lake ecosystems and communities in the project areas.

Key responsibilities

• Control compliance with environmental measures by preparing Environmental Management Plans for each area and supervising their implementation
• Conduct daily site inspections and supervise contractors' compliance with EIA/IEE measures
• Control turbidity and sedimentation from construction work in water, such as pile driving, foundation work, and dredging, including installation and maintenance of silt curtains
• Manage wastewater, waste, residue, and hazardous substances in construction areas and worker camps
• Control dust, noise, and vibration to meet standard criteria
• Plan and coordinate environmental quality monitoring including seawater and lake water quality, soil sediment, air quality, noise levels, and aquatic ecology in coordination with laboratories or consulting firms
• Analyze monitoring results against standards and baseline values and propose corrective measures when abnormalities are found
• Monitor impacts on mangrove forests, seagrass beds, coral reefs, and rare marine animals such as dugongs and dolphins in the project area
• Prepare reports on compliance with environmental measures and submit to the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning and monthly/quarterly reports to the project owner and supervising consultant
• Coordinate with government agencies including the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, Port Authority, local administrative organizations, and conservation agencies in the area

About you

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Engineering or related field
• Professional Engineer License (PE) in Environmental Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental aspects of construction projects, particularly bridge work, water work, or coastal work
• Knowledge of Thai environmental laws, EIA/IEE processes, and preparation of environmental compliance reports
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and report writing skills
• Able to work on-site in other provinces throughout the project duration and able to travel by boat
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to communicate and coordinate well, especially with communities and external agencies
• Able to solve on-site problems quickly and work independently
• Meticulous, responsible, and able to tolerate outdoor or coastal work conditions
• A TOEIC score of 650 is a high advantage
