What they need
Quality Engineer
About the Role:
We are seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer with 1–5 years of relevant experience to support factory quality operations across incoming materials, production processes, finished products, suppliers, and customer quality.
This role requires regular work on the production floor, practical problem-solving, and close collaboration with production and engineering teams. Candidates with less experience will receive guidance on complex investigations and progressively take ownership of quality issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and support incoming, in-process, final, and outgoing inspections (IQC, IPQC, FQC, and OQC) according to inspection plans, specifications, sampling requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to identify and troubleshoot quality issues involving assembly, welding and brazing, leak testing, evacuation, refrigerant charging, electrical checks, and functional testing.
- Identify, document, and contain nonconforming materials and products; coordinate disposition and verify rework or repair results.
- Investigate defects such as refrigerant leaks, abnormal noise or vibration, water leaks, workmanship issues, and cooling-performance deviations. Apply root cause analysis and support corrective actions and effectiveness verification.
- Follow up on supplier quality issues, coordinate corrective actions, and verify the quality of replacement or corrected materials.
- Review inspection and test records, identify shipment risks, and escalate unresolved issues before product release.
- Support customer complaint, return, and field-quality investigations; prepare or contribute to 8D reports and track assigned actions through closure.
- Analyze quality data, support inspection and process improvements, and assist with ISO 9001 documentation, audits, and corrective-action follow-up.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing quality, quality engineering, or production quality.
- Hands-on experience with inspections, production-floor troubleshooting, or manufacturing defect investigations.
- Working knowledge of inspection methods, nonconforming product control, root cause analysis, and corrective actions; familiarity with 8D, CAPA, and ISO 9001 is preferred.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions, and use relevant inspection tools and test equipment.
- HVAC, air-conditioning, refrigeration, or related equipment manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Professional working proficiency in English is required; Mandarin Chinese proficiency is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, practical problem-solving skills, and effective teamwork and cross-functional communication.
