Key Responsibilities

Lead & Administrative Support:

• Coordinate daily CNA Lead (Certified Nursing Assistant Lead) assignments and shift workflows to maintain seamless unit operations.
• Perform regular rounds to ensure assigned resident care and safety checks are being completed thoroughly.
• Mentor, guide, and support floor CNAs throughout the shift.
• Lead orientation and hands-on training for newly hired CNAs.
• Act as a direct bridge of communication between nursing assistants and charge nurses, unit managers, or supervisors regarding staffing and resident status.

Direct Resident Care:

• Deliver compassionate assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, meal assistance, mobility, turning, and positioning.
• Maintain clean, safe, and dignified living environments for all residents.
• Accurately document resident observations, care activities, and health changes in the electronic health record system.
• Ensure all clinical care strictly complies with facility policies as well as state and federal guidelines.

Position Requirements

• Certification: Must possess an active, unencumbered Illinois Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a CNA in long-term care or skilled nursing facilities required. Prior preceptor or floor leadership experience is highly preferred.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Background Check: Must meet all Illinois state healthcare worker background clearance requirements.
• Key Skills: Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, basic computer literacy for EHR documentation, and a collaborative team mindset.
