CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant/PCA

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant or Personal Care Assistant to join our healthcare team temporarily. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and support to our patients. Duties:

• Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
• Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
• Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting techniques and equipment
• Provide assistance with meals and ensure patients are receiving proper nutrition
• Collaborate with the nursing staff to create a safe and comfortable environment for patients
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic medical record systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks)
• Follow infection control protocols to prevent the spread of diseases
• Provide emotional support to patients and their families during challenging times
• Assist with various procedures under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians
• Perform basic life support techniques when necessary

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
• Familiarity with durable medical equipment (DME) and its proper usage
• Ability to lift and move patients safely using appropriate techniques
• Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks)
• Experience in acute care settings, including ICU or critical care units, is preferred
• Knowledge of dementia care techniques is a plus
• Basic life support certification is required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide exceptional patient service
