Duties

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort.
• Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Support patient transfer methods utilizing equipment like Hoyer lifts and ensure safe manual handling practices at all times.
• Administer medications and treatments following physician orders while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
• Document patient care activities thoroughly in medical records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare protocols.
• Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral health support.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in acute care settings such as ICU, emergency medicine, or trauma centers to deliver seamless patient care.
• Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care or phlebotomy.
• Support patients with complex needs in hospice or palliative care environments by offering compassionate emotional support alongside clinical assistance.

Qualifications

• Valid CNA certification with current state licensure required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR are preferred.
• Proven experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, or individuals with disabilities.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks/Cerner) systems for accurate documentation and patient information management.
• Experience in medical-surgical units, long-term care facilities, or hospital settings is highly desirable; critical care or ICU experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices essential for delivering safe patient care.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper techniques; manual handling skills required for patient transfers and mobility assistance.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and provide excellent caregiver communication to patients and families.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations; attentive to detail in medical documentation and patient service activities.

Pay: $23.31 - $28.07 per hour
