We are a congregate living facility that is currently hiring CNAs. We have 12 hour shifts for which you will be paid 18.00 per hour for the first 8 hours of your shift and 27.00 for the remaining 4 hours of overtime. That means for the 12 hour shift your hourly pay averages out to 21.00

Certified Nurse Assistant

Reports to: Charge LVN Nurse /Nursing Supervisor/RN Administrator

Under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, provides nursing care to clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Upholds the philosophy and mission of The Congregate Living Facility.

2. Performs nursing care as directed, adhering to guidelines as set forth

under The Congregate Living Facilities Policy & Procedures, the

California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22 and T JC standards which this

Congregate Living Facility embraces.

3. Maintains clinical competencies and required CEU's for licensure/

certification. Attends required in-services in order to increase knowledge

and skills and to improve quality of care.

4. Fulfills the personal health needs of the client(s) related to activities of

daily living. This includes AM/PM care; skin; bladder; bowel programs;

nutrition and hydration; vital signs; assistance with self medication

program; transfers from surface to surface; positioning and wheelchair

safety; care of nasogastric and gastrostomy tubes, use of ventilators/

respiratory equipment; manual and power wheelchairs.

5. Fulfills program training components for client independence and

community re-entry. Accompanies clients to medical appointments, or

other business within the community.

6. Reports changes in the clients' condition promptly to the charge nurse/

nurse supervisor.

7. Demonstrates correct use of equipment, supplies, and prosthetic / orthotic

devices.

8. Applies proper body mechanics and safety awareness at all times.

9. Organizes I completes optimal bedside care for assigned clients, keeping

client's room and household environment clean and neat.

10. Assists environmental services staff by performing household services as

directed, reporting need for supplies or equipment.

11. Handles and cares for clients' personal property through proper labeling

and storage of all items, through out the admission, transfer, and

discharge procedures.

12. Complies with Infection Control and Safety policies and procedures.

13. Utilizes and contributes to documentation within the medical record and

other information systems to assure continuity and quality of client care

and program operation.

14. Promotes harmonious relationships and favorable attitudes among the

health care team, client I family visitors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each

All persons must successfully complete the facility' initial screening process, and annual health exam.

1. Current certificate as a CNA by the State of California.

2. Current CPR card - BLS for healthcare workers

3. Ability to speak, read, and write in English.

4. Demonstrate ability to operate and use equipment necessary for client

care, but not limited to:

• Hoyer Lift
• Ventilators
• Sliding board
• Manual and Electric Wheelchair
• Battery chargers
