Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence.
• Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, accurately documenting all patient information in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems).
• Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper handling and adherence to safety protocols.
• Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts and perform safe manual handling techniques to transfer patients securely.
• Maintain patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations and safeguarding sensitive medical records.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide holistic care tailored to individual needs, including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care or phlebotomy to prevent infections.
• Assist in emergency situations by applying basic life support (BLS) skills such as CPR and responding promptly to urgent care needs.
• Support patients across diverse environments including long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, hospitals (including ICU and trauma centers), hospice settings, outpatient clinics, and home care.
• Operate EMR/EHR systems efficiently for accurate documentation of patient interactions and medical records management.

Experience

• Previous experience working as a CNA or in a similar caregiving role within medical-surgical units, long-term care facilities, or hospital settings is highly preferred.
• Critical care experience such as ICU or Level I Trauma Center exposure is advantageous.
• Experience with specialized patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, or individuals with disabilities enhances your suitability for this role.
• Familiarity with electronic health records systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms is desirable.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) certification are essential requirements.
• Prior experience working with infectious disease care or in hospice environments demonstrates adaptability and compassion in complex situations.
• Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices is necessary for effective patient transfer methods.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 per week
