CNA Instructor, LVN (Contract)

Job Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced retired Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to serve as a CNA Program Instructor for our 4–6-week Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program in Carson, California.

This contract position is designed for retired LVNs who are looking to earn additional income while sharing their expertise and mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals. New classes begin every 4–6 weeks, offering recurring teaching opportunities.

Compensation: $30–$33 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom and skills-lab instruction for the CNA training program.
• Teach nursing fundamentals, patient care techniques, infection control, safety procedures, and other required CNA curriculum.
• Demonstrate and supervise students during hands-on skills training.
• Evaluate student progress through assignments, skills assessments, and examinations.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student records.
• Ensure compliance with California CNA training standards and program requirements.
• Foster a positive, professional, and supportive learning environment.
• Prepare students for the California CNA certification examination.

Qualifications

• Retired California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with an active, unrestricted, and valid California LVN license in good standing.
• Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, preferably in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or acute care.
• Minimum of two (2) years of teaching or instructor experience in nursing, CNA education, healthcare training, or a related educational setting.
• Previous CNA instructor experience is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for educating and mentoring future Certified Nursing Assistants.
• Ability to commit to a 4–6-week contract assignment.

Pay: $30.00 per hour
