CNC department head

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the CNC department.
• Plan and monitor CNC production as per daily and monthly targets.
• Supervise CNC operators, programmers, setters, and supporting staff.
• Handle CNC machines used for jewellery manufacturing and ensure optimum machine utilization.
• Review CNC programs, tooling, fixtures, and machining processes.
• Coordinate with CAD, production, casting, finishing, and quality departments.
• Monitor production quality, dimensions, finishing, and rejection levels.
• Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and production-related issues.
• Ensure preventive maintenance and timely servicing of CNC machines.
• Maintain production records, machine utilization, rejection, and productivity reports.
• Improve production efficiency and reduce material and process wastage.
• Ensure proper handling of gold, silver, wax, and other jewellery materials.
• Train and guide team members on machine operation, safety, and production standards.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety and company procedures.
• Implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce production costs.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8–12+ years of experience in CNC manufacturing, preferably in the jewellery industry.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machines, tooling, programming, and machining processes.
• Experience managing a CNC production team.
• Good understanding of jewellery manufacturing processes.
• Strong problem-solving and production-planning skills.
• Ability to meet production targets while maintaining quality.
• Good leadership, communication, and team-management skills.
• Knowledge of CNC programming/software will be an advantage.
