CNC Laser Cutting & Bending Programmer / Operator

We are looking for an experienced CNC Laser Cutting & Bending Programmer / Operator to support our client in the metal fabrication operations.

The candidate should be able to work independently from customer drawings or sketches, prepare drawings and cutting/bending programs, set up and operate CNC laser cutting and press brake machines, and ensure finished parts meet drawing requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate and set up CNC laser cutting machines.

• Operate and set up CNC press brake / bending machines.

• Prepare 2D drawings for laser cutting and bending.

• Convert customer drawings, sketches or dimensions into production-ready drawings.

• Prepare nesting and CNC cutting programs.

• Prepare bending programs and determine bending sequence.

• Read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.

• Check material type, thickness, dimensions and cutting requirements before production.

• Optimize nesting to reduce material wastage.

• Select suitable cutting parameters according to material and thickness.

• Select suitable bending tools, dies and parameters.

• Conduct first-piece inspection and dimensional checking.

• Adjust machine settings where necessary to achieve required tolerances.

• Identify and troubleshoot basic cutting, bending and programming issues.

• Coordinate with production, engineering and QC teams.

• Maintain proper records of drawings and CNC programs.

• Perform basic machine maintenance and housekeeping.

• Ensure machines are operated safely and properly.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience in CNC laser cutting, CNC bending or sheet metal fabrication.

• Able to read and understand technical / fabrication drawings.

• Able to prepare or modify 2D CAD drawings.

• Experience with CNC laser cutting programming and nesting software.

• Experience operating CNC press brake / bending machines.

• Able to independently set up jobs and machines.

• Good understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.

• Familiar with dimensional inspection and measuring equipment.

• Able to troubleshoot basic machine and production issues.

• Responsible and able to work independently.
