Salary: $25 - $35 per hour

Job Details Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Set up and operate CNC laser-cutting equipment to produce parts according to drawings and work orders.
• Work with older and newer equipment, adapting to different controls, interfaces, and setup requirements.
• Verify material type, thickness, machine settings, and program selection before starting production.
• Load approved programs, establish part positioning, and complete first-piece inspections.
• Monitor cutting performance and adjust operating parameters to maintain part quality.
• Troubleshoot poor cut quality, incomplete cuts, excessive burrs, dimensional issues, and machine alarms.
• Inspect completed parts using calipers, micrometers, and other appropriate measuring tools.
• Perform routine equipment checks, cleaning, and assigned preventive maintenance.
• Document production results and communicate equipment or quality concerns.
• Follow established laser safety, machine guarding, and material-handling procedures.

Needed

• Previous hands-on experience operating and setting up CNC laser-cutting equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret dimensions, tolerances, and production instructions.
• Experience selecting programs, verifying setups, and adjusting machine settings.
• Ability to troubleshoot operating problems and verify that adjustments produce acceptable parts.
• Working knowledge of precision measuring tools and first-piece inspection.
• Familiarity with routine equipment maintenance and safe operating practices.

Preferred

• Experience with both older and newer laser equipment or multiple generations of CNC controls.
• CO₂ and/or fiber laser-cutting experience; experience with both is a plus.
• Program editing, nesting, or CAD/CAM experience.
• Experience processing different metal types and thicknesses.
• Additional CNC machining or metal fabrication experience.
