Position Summary

The Amada Laser Programmer / Operator is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Amada laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality sheet metal components for custom race transporters and specialty vehicles. This role works closely with Engineering and Production to optimize cut quality, material utilization, machine efficiency, and production throughput.

Key Responsibilities

• Program Amada laser cutting equipment using engineering drawings and CAD files.
• Create, modify, and optimize nesting programs to maximize material utilization.
• Set up and operate Amada laser equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
• Verify dimensions and quality of finished parts.
• Troubleshoot programming and machine-related issues.
• Adjust cutting parameters to improve efficiency and cut quality.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Fabrication teams on part design and manufacturability.
• Support production schedules and changing priorities.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and inspections.
• Minimize scrap and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of CNC laser programming and operation experience.
• Experience programming and operating Amada laser equipment.
• Experience with nesting software and material optimization.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Experience with machine setup, tooling, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of tolerances, quality standards, and inspection methods.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Experience in custom fabrication or engineered-to-order manufacturing preferred.
