Lathe Operator (Manual & CNC) - THIRD SHIFT

Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Lathe Operator to set up and operate a variety of manual and CNC lathes in a precision machining environment. This role is responsible for producing high-quality parts with tight tolerances, performing inspections, and maintaining equipment to meet production and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate vertical and horizontal manual and CNC lathes
• Perform semi-finishing and final machining operations with tolerances up to ±.002 (manual) and ±.001 (CNC)
• Execute turning, facing, grooving, and grinding operations
• Inspect parts using precision measurement tools to ensure quality standards are met
• Operate CMM equipment to verify dimensional accuracy
• Complete and maintain SPC and quality documentation
• Rework non-conforming materials using CNC/manual lathes and ID/OD grinding equipment
• Perform routine preventive maintenance tracking on machines
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Assist in training and mentoring less experienced operators

Qualifications

• Experience operating manual and CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to hold tight tolerances and read blueprints/technical drawings
• Strong knowledge of inspection tools and machining processes
• Experience with CMM operation preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot and rework parts as needed
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Minimum Personal Tools Required

• 1” Indicator with Magnetic Base
• 1”–2” Micrometer
• 6” Scale
• 6” Dial Caliper

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
