CNC Lathe Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Setup/Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathes to produce precision metal components. Your expertise in machining tools, blueprint reading, and CNC programming will ensure high-quality production standards are met efficiently. Duties

• Set up CNC lathe machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and calibrating equipment according to specifications
• Program CNC lathes using G-code and M-code languages, including Mazatrol and CNC programming techniques
• Interpret mechanical blueprints and engineering drawings to determine machining requirements
• Operate CNC lathe machines to produce parts within specified tolerances using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and precision measurement instruments
• Perform routine machine maintenance, tool changes, and adjustments to optimize machining processes
• Conduct quality inspections during and after machining using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards and measurement tools
• Troubleshoot machine issues, perform manual machining when necessary, and document production activities accurately

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating and setting up CNC lathes or similar machining equipment in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of CNC G-code programming, CNC quality inspection, and measurement techniques
• Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or CAD programs for part interpretation
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints and interpret mechanical blueprint details accurately
• Knowledge of machining tools, tooling setups, grinders, hand tools, power tools, and assembly processes
• Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for precise measurements and calculations
• Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus but not required
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $18.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
