CNC Machine Operator

Duties

• Set up and operate CNC machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines, following detailed blueprints and technical drawings.
• Program CNC equipment using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and adjust parameters for optimal performance.
• Read and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to ensure precise machining.
• Use precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions.
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery, including electrical discharge machining (EDM) tools, to maintain peak operation.
• Select and install appropriate tooling and tooling fixtures for various machining tasks.
• Conduct quality checks throughout the manufacturing process using precision tools to guarantee parts meet specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to lean manufacturing principles for efficiency.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and welding equipment as needed for assembly or setup tasks.
• Follow safety protocols diligently when working with plastics injection molding equipment or during welding operations.

Experience

• Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines or CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages like Fanuc or similar control systems.
• Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or general blueprint reading skills.
• Mechanical aptitude with understanding of machining processes, tooling setups, and basic math skills for calculations.
• Experience working with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
• Knowledge of GD&T standards to interpret complex technical drawings accurately.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced production settings involving plastics injection molding or welding tasks.

Pay: $23.00 - $30.39 per hour
