CNC Machine Operator

JOB DESCRIPTION – CNC OPERATOR

Department: Joinery / Fit-out Production
Reports To: Workshop Supervisor / Production Manager

Job Summary

Responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to produce joinery and interior fit-out components according to approved drawings, quality standards and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC router machines for cutting, drilling, routing and engraving wood, MDF, plywood and other approved materials.
• Read and understand technical drawings, dimensions and job specifications before starting production.
• Load and verify CNC programs, set tools and machine parameters, and carry out trial runs where required.
• Check materials, secure workpieces properly and confirm machine settings before operation.
• Inspect the first piece and finished components to ensure accurate dimensions, proper finishing and compliance with approved drawings.
• Monitor machine performance and report faults, tool damage or production defects to the supervisor.
• Optimize material usage through proper cutting layouts and nesting to minimize wastage.
• Coordinate with the design and production teams to clarify drawings and complete assigned work on time.
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication and basic machine maintenance according to manufacturer instructions.
• Maintain production records, material usage details and machine maintenance logs.
• Follow workshop safety procedures, use required PPE and ensure machine guards and dust extraction systems are functioning.
• Keep the machine and surrounding work area clean and organized.

Qualifications and Experience

• ITI, diploma or relevant technical training in machine operation, woodworking or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of CNC operating experience in a joinery, furniture or interior fit-out workshop.
• Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring tools accurately.
• Working knowledge of CNC controls, tooling, cutting parameters and machine setup.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM and nesting software is an advantage.
• UAE joinery or fit-out experience is preferred.

Pay: AED2,800.00 - AED3,500.00 per month
