Cnc Machine Operator

Educational Qualification

• ITI / NCVT in Machinist, Fitter, Woodworking, or a related technical trade.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a relevant technical field is preferred.
• Candidates with relevant CNC machine operation training and practical experience may also be considered.

Role & responsibilities

• Operate CNC router machines for furniture and interior joinery production.
• Read drawings and prepare machine settings as per approved production details.
• Ensure accurate cutting, drilling, grooving, and shaping of panels.
• Check dimensions and finished quality before forwarding materials to the next production stage.
• Maintain production schedules and minimize material wastage.
• Perform routine machine cleaning and preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate with the production supervisor, carpenters, and quality team.
• Follow all workshop safety procedures.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience

• Minimum 25 years of experience operating CNC machines, preferably in furniture manufacturing, modular furniture, and interior fit-out works.
• Experience in operating CNC routers for MDF, plywood, particle board, laminates, and other panel materials.
• Knowledge of CNC panel processing, cutting, grooving, drilling, and routing operations.

. Technical Skills

• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, cutting layouts, and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of CNC machine operation, tool selection, tool changing, and machine calibration.
• Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM software and CNC programming.
• Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD, AlphaCAM, Cabinet Vision, or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to understand G-code and machine operating parameters, where applicable.
• Knowledge of material optimization, nesting, and wastage control.
• Understanding of machine maintenance, safety procedures, and quality inspection.

• Ability to work independently and meet production targets.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.
• Experience in furniture factory production or interior contracting will be an advantage.
