CNC Machinist- 5-Axis

Overview

Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Machinist specializing in 5-Axis machining! In this role, you will operate and set up advanced CNC (Computer Numerical Control) milling machines equipped with 5-axis capabilities, enabling precise and complex metal fabrication.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment, including independent setup
• Demonstrated experience setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machining centers; 3- and 4-axis experience also considered for the right candidate
• Working knowledge of industry CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Siemens, or similar) and the ability to read and edit G-code and M-code at the control
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret aerospace blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Proficiency with a broad range of precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, bore gages, gauges, and comparators
• Strong working knowledge of speeds and feeds, tooling selection, and machining strategy across multiple material types including exotic alloys
• Solid shop math skills including geometry and trigonometry
• Experience in tight-tolerance manufacturing environments where part quality and traceability are paramount
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage production flow with minimal supervision on an off-shift schedule
• Attention to detail and a strong commitment to first-pass quality; follow all quality management system procedures in compliance with AS9100D and applicable customer flow-down requirements
• Ability to lift and handle tooling, fixtures, and workpieces, and to stand for extended periods throughout the shift

Preferred Qualifications

• Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience, particularly with flight-critical or mission-critical components
• Exposure to AS9100 and/or NADCAP-regulated manufacturing environments
• Experience machining titanium, Inconel, Hastelloy, or other difficult-to-machine alloys
• Familiarity with CAM software (Mastercam, Esprit, Fusion 360, or similar) and the ability to make minor program edits

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
