CNC Machinist

Lectro Engineering is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our machine shop team. We manufacture custom equipment and components, so this position is ideal for someone who enjoys a variety of work rather than running the same production part every day.

The CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC equipment, producing parts from engineering drawings, inspecting completed work, and making adjustments as necessary to maintain quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and tolerances
• Load and verify CNC programs
• Set work offsets and tool offsets
• Select and install appropriate tooling
• Make minor program edits and machining adjustments as needed
• Machine a variety of materials and part configurations
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
• Use calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other measuring equipment
• Verify parts meet print specifications before continuing production
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues
• Maintain accurate production and job information
• Keep machines and work areas clean and organized
• Follow company safety and quality procedures
• Work with programmers, engineering, and other shop personnel to complete jobs efficiently

Qualifications

• Previous CNC machining experience preferred
• CNC setup experience strongly preferred
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings
• Experience using precision measuring equipment
• Understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, and machining practices
• Ability to work independently and solve machining problems
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Dependable attendance and ability to work as part of a team

Experience with Fadal, Mazak, or similar CNC equipment is a plus.
