CNC Machinist

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC machines to produce precision metal components that meet strict quality standards. Duties

• Operate CNC machining centers including lathes, mills, and grinders, utilizing Fanuc or similar control systems to produce complex parts with precision.
• Set up machines by installing tooling, calibrating equipment, and interpreting mechanical blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications.
• Program CNC machines using G-code and M-code, incorporating CAM programming software such as SolidWorks, CAD, and other relevant tools to optimize machining processes.
• Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part dimensions and ensure quality standards are met.
• Perform machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments to maintain optimal operation and reduce downtime.
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine machining requirements.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives by maintaining efficient workflows, reducing waste, and improving process consistency through proper tooling setup and machine operation.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as lathes, milling machines, or CNC grinders with a solid understanding of CNC G-code programming (Fanuc preferred).
• Strong knowledge of machining tools, measurement techniques (including micrometers and bore gauges), and precision measurement in manufacturing environments.
• Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T specifications, and M-code instructions for accurate part production.
• Familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks or similar for design review and tooling setup.
• Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of manual machining techniques including lathe work, grinding, welding, and assembly processes.
• Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feed rates, speeds, and other machining parameters.
• Experience with CNC quality inspection methods using coordinate measuring machines (CMM) or other measurement instruments to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Ability to set up machines efficiently while adhering to safety standards; familiarity with power tools and hand tools is essential.
• Physical capability to lift heavy materials using forklifts or hand tools; willingness to follow safety protocols at all times.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
