CNC Machinist

Description

We are looking for entry level and experienced machine operators for a metal manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

· Operate manual and CNC equipment to machine metal components.

· Setup machines for specific components, choose programs and run the production cycle.

· Work in a consistent manner to ensure repeatable product quality.

· Work in a conscious and safe manner to prevent damage to person, part, and equipment.

· Measure the components after production.

· Maintain and take care of the equipment to have minimize downtime.

· Recommend program and operational changes based on observed experience.

· Capable of working in a standing environment and ability to lift upto 50 lbs.

· Any other relevant tasks that may be assigned.

Required Qualifications

· The candidate must meet one of these requirements or a mixture of them.

o 2 year technical degree in machining and related trades.

o 5 years on the job experience as a machine operator in steel machining.

o 5 years on the job experience with lathes, mills, on any material.

· Basic computer skills.

· Experience with manual hand held measuring tools.

Competency Expectations

· Excellent attendance.

· Basic math and estimation.

· Understand machining speeds and feeds.

· Basic drawing interpretation.

· Evaluate multiple machine’s operational limits.

· High level of integrity and professional ethics.

Job type & Location

Full-time, On- site, based in the Wayland, NY area; and may need up to 30 miles of commute while the facility is set up.

Compensation

$ 25 – 45 / hour.

The compensation above reflects where in the range we likely intend to hire for this role. The actual compensation may deviate from the range based on skills, experience, and qualifications.

This new division’s primary goal is to serve the North American rail market, with US-based manufacturing for America’s rapidly growing rail industry.The new site will be machining wheels, axles, and manufacturing wheelsets for the freight, locomotive, and transit industry across the North-American subcontinent.

Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
