CNC Machinist

Core Duties

• Analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to establish necessary machining parameters, tolerances, and setup methods.
• Prepare, align, and fasten materials by utilizing the correct fixtures, tooling, and workholding techniques.
• Execute CNC machine operations to manufacture components that meet precise design requirements.
• Modify operational parameters like cutting angles, feed rates, and speeds to ensure optimal part quality and precision.
• Oversee active machining processes to proactively detect and resolve issues, helping to minimize defects and maintain high production standards.
• Utilize precision measurement tools to evaluate completed parts and confirm they adhere to all quality benchmarks.
• Perform and record initial part inspections to ensure consistent quality control throughout the production cycle.
• Contribute to a secure and orderly production environment by consistently adhering to all workplace safety protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of a vocational program, trade school, or formal apprenticeship, or possess equivalent professional machining experience.
• A preference for candidates with three to five years of hands-on CNC machining background.
• Strong grasp of shop mathematics, blueprint interpretation, precision measurement, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Practical experience working with tool and machine probing systems.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze technical documentation and work autonomously to achieve production and quality goals.
• Prior experience with high-speed machining, specifically involving spindle speeds ranging from 16,000 to 27,000 RPM, is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Siemens 840D control systems is considered an advantage.
• Certain roles may necessitate specialized expertise regarding particular equipment or specific manufacturing processes.
