CNC Machinist / Programmer – Okuma MULTUS U3000

About the role

We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist / Programmer to operate and support our Okuma MULTUS U3000 - Multitasking CNC Machine in our new advanced manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for CNC machining operations, setup, tooling, program verification and production support to achieve high productivity, quality and on-time delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and set up the Okuma MULTUS U3000 - Multitasking CNC Machine
• Perform CNC turning and milling operations according to engineering drawings and specifications
• Read and understand technical drawings, GD&T and machining requirements
• Load, verify and optimize CNC programs before production
• Perform tool selection, tool offset adjustment and cutting parameter setting
• Conduct first-piece inspection and in-process dimensional checks
• Monitor machining processes and troubleshoot machining, tooling and quality issues
• Maintain proper machine setup, tooling and workholding conditions
• Support production improvement, cycle-time reduction and machining process optimization
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality and Maintenance teams to resolve production issues

About you

• Diploma / Certificate / Technical qualification in Machining, Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 2 years of CNC machining experience; experience with multitasking machines is highly preferred
• Practical experience with Okuma CNC controls is an advantage
• Experience in CNC turning and milling operations
• Able to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T
• Knowledge of cutting tools, workholding and machining parameters
• Experience with CNC program editing and troubleshooting
• Able to use measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge and CMM-related inspection requirements
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team
