About the opportunities
Jigsaw Staffing is seeking expressions of interest from experienced CNC Programmer/Machinists for current and upcoming permanent positions with established engineering and manufacturing businesses.
These opportunities may suit machinists who enjoy producing high-quality components, solving technical challenges and taking ownership of jobs from programming and setup through to final inspection.
Key responsibilities may include

• Programming CNC mills, lathes or machining centres
• Setting up machines, tooling, fixtures and workholding
• Producing one-off, prototype and production components
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Selecting appropriate tooling, speeds and feeds
• Completing in-process measurements and quality checks
• Troubleshooting programming and machining issues
• Maintaining accurate tolerances and high standards of workmanship
• Supporting continuous improvement within the workshop

About you

• Proven CNC programming and machining experience
• Experience operating CNC mills, lathes or machining centres
• Confidence programming either at the machine or through CAD/CAM software
• Strong knowledge of tooling, materials, speeds and feeds
• The ability to read technical drawings and work to tight tolerances
• Experience with Fanuc, Fagor, Mazatrol, Heidenhain, Siemens or similar controls
• A relevant trade qualification or substantial practical experience
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• A commitment to quality and safe working practices
• Experience with manual machining, fitting, fabrication or welding may also be advantageous.
