CNC Machinists / Grinder Operators – Multiple Opportunities
Christchurch
Build Components That Power Performance Around the World
Looking for more than just another CNC job?
How about producing precision components that end up in high-performance engines across street performance, drifting, circuit racing, drag racing and rally applications around the world?

We're partnering with a growing Christchurch-based precision manufacturer with an international reputation for producing high-performance automotive and motorsport components — and we're looking for CNC people at different stages of their careers to join the team.️️️

There are currently two opportunities available:
CNC Setter / Operator
$30–$40 per hour | Monday–Friday | 8:00am–4:30pm with some flexibility

CNC Grinder / Operator
$35–$42 per hour | Later Shift Options | 10:00am or 12:00pm start

Whether your background is in CNC setting and operating, precision grinding, or you're a developing machinist looking for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you.

This Isn't Just Another Machine Shop
You'll be helping manufacture high-performance camshafts and precision engine components supplied to customers around the world.
The products manufactured here are designed for applications ranging from high-performance street vehicles through to drifting, circuit racing, drag racing and rally.
Behind those products is a manufacturing environment that's continuing to evolve.
The business is investing in advanced CNC technology, Fusion 360, automation, robotics and CMM integration, with a genuine focus on finding smarter, more efficient ways to manufacture world-class components.
If you're someone who gets excited by machining, technology, motorsport or simply making exceptionally good components, there's plenty here to sink your teeth into.

Opportunity One – CNC Setter / Operator
$30–$40 per hour | Monday–Friday | 8:00am–4:30pm with some flexibility
This role would suit someone who's already built a good foundation in CNC machining and wants to continue developing their setting, operating and programming capabilities.
Depending on your experience, you'll be involved in:

  • Setting and operating CNC machinery
  • Machine setup and job changeovers
  • Tool selection, tool changes and offsets
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Producing precision components to exact specifications
  • Measuring, inspection and quality checks
  • Troubleshooting machining issues
  • Developing your CNC programming capabilities
  • Supporting continuous improvement
  • Contributing ideas around automation and manufacturing efficiency

Experience with Fusion 360 would be advantageous, but it isn't the only thing we're looking for.
An interest in automation, robotics and the future of advanced manufacturing will definitely get our attention.

Opportunity Two – CNC Grinder / Operator
$35–$42 per hour | Later Shift Options
This is an opportunity to develop or continue building specialist experience working with CNC camshaft grinding equipment.
You'll be producing high-performance camshafts and precision engine components where accuracy, consistency and quality are critical.
Depending on your experience, you'll be involved in:

  • Operating specialist CNC camshaft grinding machinery
  • Monitoring machining and grinding processes
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Measuring and inspecting precision components
  • Making machine adjustments and offsets where required
  • Maintaining exceptionally high quality standards
  • Identifying issues and contributing to process improvements
  • Working closely with manufacturing and quality teams

Shift Options
10:00am–6:30pm
or
12:00pm–8:30pm
If you're someone who enjoys having your mornings free, has family or lifestyle commitments that suit a later start, or simply prefers working later in the day, these hours could be a great fit.
Existing CNC grinding experience would be fantastic, but we'd also like to hear from CNC machinists with strong precision machining foundations who are interested in developing specialist grinding skills.
We're Not Looking for Perfection — We're Looking for Potential
You don't necessarily need to tick every box.
We're particularly interested in people who are a few years into their CNC careers and have the foundations, curiosity and attitude to continue developing.
Depending on the opportunity, we're looking for experience or capability across areas such as:

  • CNC setting and operating
  • CNC grinding
  • Reading engineering drawings
  • Precision measuring and inspection
  • Tooling and offsets
  • Working to tight tolerances
  • CNC programming or an interest in developing programming skills
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Continuous improvement
  • Automation and modern manufacturing technology

But there's another part of this brief that's every bit as important.
It's About More Than What's on Your CV
Technical capability matters — but personality and team fit matter just as much.
This is a genuinely close-knit manufacturing team.
People support each other, share knowledge, pitch in when somebody needs a hand and celebrate success together.
Think less "that's not my job" and much more "how can I help?"
We're looking for people who communicate well, take pride in their work, bring a positive attitude into the workshop and genuinely want to become part of the team.
You'll be encouraged to learn from experienced colleagues, but you'll also be encouraged to contribute your own ideas and suggest better ways of doing things.
When something doesn't go to plan, you'll help find the solution rather than look for somebody to blame.
Ultimately, we're looking for awesome teammates who also happen to be pretty handy around CNC machinery.
Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Manufacture high-performance automotive and motorsport components used around the world
  • Work with products you can genuinely get excited about
  • Modern precision manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to Fusion 360, automation, robotics and CMM integration
  • Opportunities to develop your CNC programming and technical capabilities
  • Specialist CNC grinding development opportunities
  • Learn from experienced people who are passionate about what they do
  • Be encouraged to contribute ideas and improve processes
  • Genuine long-term career development
  • Supportive, close-knit team culture
  • Regular team events and Friday social drinks
  • Join a growing international manufacturing business where your contribution is noticed and valued

Remuneration
Depending on the position and your level of experience:
CNC Setter / Operator: $30–$40 per hour
CNC Grinder / Operator: $35–$42 per hour
There's flexibility across the opportunities depending on the skills and experience you bring, so if the role sounds right but you're not sure exactly where you fit, we'd still encourage you to have a conversation with us.
Sound Like Your Kind of Workshop?
You might be an experienced CNC machinist, You might already specialise in CNC grinding.
Or you might be a couple of years into your machining career and looking for a company where you can genuinely develop.
What matters is that you've got a good technical foundation, you're keen to learn, take pride in what you produce and want to be part of a team where people genuinely have each other's backs.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
