What they need
Shape the future of high‑tech with precision CNC programming
At Plansee’s Franklin, USA site, we turn semi‑finished molybdenum and tungsten into complex, high‑precision components that power advanced applications around the world. Join a close‑knit local team backed by the global strength and values of the Plansee Group.
A day in this role
You’ll start by reviewing customer specs and 3D models for a new molybdenum or tungsten part. You translate requirements into robust CNC programs, validate toolpaths, and prepare the fixturing and documentation needed to run reliably on the floor. You partner with machinists at the machines, adjust code and setups for optimal results, and verify parts against drawings and models. Throughout, you maintain ISO‑compliant processes and airtight configuration control so every revision is traceable and production‑ready.
What you will do
- Create, modify, and verify CNC programs for new and existing products.
- Build and refine 3D solid models for programming and inspection use.
- Produce and maintain technical drawings, setup documents, tooling and fixturing details.
- Collaborate across Manufacturing Engineering, shop floor, sales, and customers to translate specifications into manufacturable solutions.
- Ensure ISO compliance across all processes tied to product manufacture and documentation.
- Track new product launches, ensuring schedules are met and delivery dates are achieved.
- Implement product revision changes and update all associated tools: fixtures, CNC programs, drawings, and records.
- Provide hands‑on production support on the floor, including machining best practices, setups, and inspection techniques.
What you bring
- High school diploma/GED; a two‑year manufacturing/machining technology degree or certification is preferred.
- 3+ years programming experience (reading/writing/interpreting CNC code); Okuma format exposure desired.
- 5+ years in manufacturing with deep precision machining experience (milling, turning, drilling); experience with refractory metals like molybdenum or tungsten is a plus.
- Foundational CAD/CAM skills required; Siemens NX experience preferred.
- Basic MRP knowledge; SAP experience desired.
- Strong configuration management discipline.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Clear communication and strong organizational skills.
Why you’ll thrive here
- Medical: 90% paid by the company with 100% reimbursement on the deductible.
- Dental and Vision coverage.
- Flexible Spending Accounts.
- Company‑paid life and disability insurance.
- 401(k) with company match.
- Time‑off benefits.
- And much more.
Base pay: $31–$37 per hour, commensurate with skill and experience.
