About the Role

Transbeam Industries is looking for an experienced Plasma Operator to join our team in Forrestfield.

You’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our Kinetic K5200 Plasma Machine, ensuring parts are cut accurately and to the required quality standards.

You’ll work closely with the Plasma team to follow the daily cutting schedule, meet production deadlines and ensure material is used efficiently. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in producing quality work, enjoys working with machinery and understands the importance of safety in a manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

• Operate the Kinetic K5200 Plasma Machine safely and efficiently.
• Select, prepare and correctly position steel plates and other materials for cutting.
• Load programs, set cutting parameters and calibrate the machine to achieve accurate and consistent cuts.
• Inspect raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards.
• Make adjustments to programs and cutting parameters where required to achieve quality and accuracy.
• Monitor machine performance and carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Safely operate an overhead crane to load and handle steel plates and materials.
• Lift, handle, chip grind and clean profiles as required.
• Follow the daily cutting schedule and work with the Plasma Leading hand to meet production requirements and deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area.
• Follow all company policies, procedures and safe working practices.
• Participate in toolbox meetings, safety initiatives and relevant training.
• Wear the required PPE and report hazards, incidents or safety concerns promptly.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and support the wider manufacturing team.
• Undertake other tasks as directed by your manager to support the overall success of the business.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who has previous experience operating CNC Plasma machinery and understands the importance of accuracy, quality and efficiency in a steel processing environment.

Essential:

• Previous experience operating CNC Plasma machines.
• Current Forklift Licence.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Ability to read and follow cutting schedules, instructions and specifications.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Good attention to detail and a focus on producing quality work.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Physically capable of working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Desirable:

• Experience operating a Kinetic K5200 Plasma Machine ( Bevelling, Drilling, Milling, tapping and countersinking )

• Previous experience in steel processing, manufacturing or a similar environment.

• Experience operating overhead cranes.
