CNC Plasma Table Programmer-Operator & Fabrication Welder

Downtime Rebuild (Cincinnati) is hiring an experienced CNC plasma table professional who also fabricates and welds. Our engineers handle drawings in AutoCAD/SolidWorks—you turn those files into accurate, finished parts and complete assemblies. This is not a training position.

Why this role matters

• Own the entire CNC plasma process: program loading, setup, cutting, inspection.
• Keep quality high by optimizing parameters and troubleshooting on the fly.
• Drive throughput by fabricating from raw stock and welding as needed.

What you’ll do

• Receive drawing/production files from engineering and load them into the CNC plasma software/controller.
• Confirm part layouts, material type, thickness, consumables, and cut settings.
• Load and position raw plate on the table; run the job independently from setup to completion.
• Monitor kerf and cut quality; adjust parameters and perform basic torch/nozzle/consumable troubleshooting.
• Inspect completed parts for accuracy before fabrication and assembly.
• Read blueprints, specs, and technical drawings; fabricate from raw material.
• Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding; use grinders, saws, press brakes, and precision measuring tools.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and keep equipment in good condition.

Required background

• Hands-on, independent CNC plasma table operation in fabrication or manufacturing.
• Ability to clearly explain your personal workflow from file receipt through finished cut parts.
• Demonstrated experience loading files, setting up materials and cut parameters, operating the table, and verifying parts.
• Metal fabrication and welding experience.
• Blueprint and technical drawing literacy.
• Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and related gauges.
• Detail-oriented, quality-driven, safe, and self-directed.

Experience that does NOT qualify

• Only handheld/manual plasma cutting without CNC table operation.
• Only welding parts someone else cut and prepared.
• Assisting or watching another operator without independently setting up and running the table.
• Needing training on basic CNC plasma operation.

Preferred

• Experience with Lincoln, Torchmate, or similar CNC plasma tables.
• AutoCAD or SolidWorks exposure (engineers provide the drawings).
• Press brake and broader metal-fabrication equipment experience.

Pay

$25–$35 per hour, based on experience.
