CNC Press Brake Programmer & Operator

Looking for a hands-on role where you'll programme, schedule, and run the job? We've got a spot in our Vulcan Plate team for a CNC Press Brake Programmer / Scheduler — programming and scheduling press brake jobs, then getting on the floor to run them, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.

What you'll be doing

• Programming CNC press brake machines to job specifications
• Planning and scheduling press brake jobs to keep production running efficiently
• Setting up and operating CNC press brake machines on the floor
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and job sheets
• Bending and pressing steel parts to specification
• Checking measurements and quality of finished work
• Liaising with operators and production staff to prioritise and sequence jobs
• Keeping machines clean and reporting any faults

It's a hands-on role — you'll be on the floor as well as at the screen, so there's lifting and manual work involved alongside the programming and scheduling.

Requirements

• Experience programming CNC press brake machines, preferably in the steel or metal industry
• Experience operating CNC press brake machines on the production floor
• Experience with production scheduling and job planning
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and job specifications
• Full driver's licence
• Overhead crane or forklift licence (F endorsement) preferred
• A valid work visa or the right to work in New Zealand
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test
