Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer and Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced CNC machinery, including 5-axis CNC machines and CNC lathes, to produce intricate metal components. The ideal candidate will be passionate about machining precision parts, interpreting complex blueprints, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure top-tier quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up and operate 3-and 5- axis CNC miling machines to produce precision tooling components
• Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM software and G- codes for high precision machining on 3- and 5 Axis CNC milling machines.
• Program and machine micro features such as: Micro cavities for injection molds, fine ribs, think walls, and small radii, precision shutoff and mating surfaces.
• Work directly from drawings and CAD models to develop CNC progrms.
• Select and manage micro-cutting tools, tool holders, and fixtures for small-scale machining.
• Optimize tool paths, speeds, feeds, and cutting strategies to minimize tool wear ad deflection.
• Perform inspections using high-precision measuring equipment (microscopes, optical comparators, micrometers, indicators, CMM, etc.)
• Troubleshoot machining, programming, tooling, and accuracy issues at a micro-scale
• Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, and process improvements.
• Work closely with mold designers, engineers and mold makers to develop machining strategies.
• Maintain CNC machines and tooling to ensure micro-level accuracy and repeatability.
• Follow strict quality, cleanliness, and safety standards common to micro and medical tooling environments.

Experience

• Associates degree in Machining Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience programming and operating CNC machines such as CNC milling machines (including 5-axis), CNC lathes, or similar equipment.
• Strong knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for interpreting design drawings and engineering schematics.
• Familiarity with CAM programming software for creating efficient machining programs.
• Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics accurately.
• Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus.
• Knowledge of manufacturing best practices including lean manufacturing principles.
• Ability to read complex blueprints and schematics with precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
• Familiarity with industry standards like GD&T for ensuring part quality within specified tolerances.

Pay: $32.00 - $36.00 per hour
