CNC Programmer

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs to ensure precision machining of metal components. Your expertise will directly contribute to the production of high-quality parts, utilizing advanced CNC machinery and CAD/CAM software. Responsibilities

• Develop and write CNC programs for various machines including CNC lathes, milling machines, and 5-axis CNC machines using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as Master Cam or AutoCAD.
• Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate machining processes.
• Set up machining tools, fixtures, and tooling on CNC machines while ensuring proper alignment and calibration using precision measurement instruments like bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
• Optimize machining parameters for efficiency and quality by applying lean manufacturing principles and best practices in machining operations.
• Program CNC equipment such as Mazatrol, Fanuc controllers, ensuring compatibility with CAD/CAM software outputs and machine capabilities.
• Conduct quality control inspections during production runs using measurement tools to verify part dimensions meet specifications.
• Troubleshoot machining issues related to geometry, tooling, or machine performance; adjust programs accordingly to maintain high standards of precision.

Experience

• Proven experience programming CNC machines including CNC lathe and milling machines, with a strong focus on 5-axis CNC machining.
• Extensive knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; familiarity with Fanuc controls is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in CAD software like SolidWorks or AutoCAD for designing parts and creating detailed schematics.
• Skilled in CAM programming software for generating efficient toolpaths that maximize precision while minimizing waste.
• Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret complex blueprints and schematics accurately.
• Experience working within lean manufacturing environments to improve process flow and reduce waste.
• Strong understanding of measurement techniques using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
