CNC PROGRAMMER

Key responsibilities

• Create and modify CNC programs for CNC milling and CNC turning machines
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and machining requirements
• Select appropriate cutting tools, tooling methods, cutting parameters and machining processes
• Set and optimize machining parameters to achieve required accuracy, quality and productivity
• Conduct program simulation and verification before machining to minimize errors and machine downtime
• Perform first-piece inspection and make necessary program adjustments
• Troubleshoot CNC programming and machining issues during production
• Work closely with the Production, Engineering and Quality departments to resolve machining-related problems
• Maintain and update CNC programs, tooling records and relevant documentation
• Assist in improving machining processes, cycle time and production efficiency

Requirements

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in CNC Machining, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings
• Familiar with CNC milling or CNC turning operations
• Knowledge of G-code, M-code, tooling and cutting parameters
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Able to work independently as well as in a team
• Experience in CNC programming and machining is preferred
• Experience with CAM software is an advantage
