This role is well suited for experienced CNC Programmers, CNC Setup Programmers, and CNC Machinists with strong programming capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, write, edit, and optimize CNC programs for mills, lathes, and other CNC machining equipment.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications to develop accurate machining programs.
  • Create and modify G-code and M-code programs to improve machining accuracy, efficiency, and cycle times.
  • Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies for various materials.
  • Support CNC machine setups, first-piece inspections, and program prove-outs to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot programming errors, machining issues, and production inefficiencies while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Work closely with machinists, engineers, and production teams to improve manufacturing processes and reduce downtime.
  • Maintain CNC program documentation, setup sheets, tooling information, and revision records.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Programmer, CNC Setup Programmer, or CNC Machinist with programming responsibilities.

  • Experience programming CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machining equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
  • Experience selecting tooling, determining cutting parameters, and optimizing machining programs.
  • Understanding of CNC machine setups, offsets, tool changes, and machining tolerances.
  • Strong troubleshooting, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with machining and production teams.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with CAD/CAM programming software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, or other CNC control systems.
  • Experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis CNC programming.
  • Knowledge of fixture design, machining strategies, and process optimization.
  • Experience reducing cycle times, improving tooling efficiency, and minimizing scrap.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing or complex precision machining environments.
