CNC Programmer

Role Overview
We are hiring a CNC Programmer to prepare and optimize cutting plans (nesting) for structural steel plates and sections, maximizing material utilization while meeting fabrication drawings and production schedules. Immediate requirement — the right candidate can be trained on our nesting software. (This role is also known as: Nesting Engineer, CAD/nesting operator.)

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare nesting layouts for plates and sections from approved fabrication drawings
• Generate and optimize cutting plans to maximize material yield and minimize scrap
• Convert drawings into machine-ready CNC cutting files/programs
• Coordinate with design, planning, and production teams to align nesting with cutting schedules and material availability
• Account for plate grades, thicknesses, cut allowances, and kerf while nesting
• Maintain nesting records, material utilization reports, and offcut/scrap tracking
• Flag drawing discrepancies or material shortfalls before cutting
• Support production to resolve cutting-stage queries

Requirements

• AutoCAD experience required — ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
• Experience with Most2D (or similar nesting/CNC cutting software) preferable; the right candidate can be trained
• Understanding of structural steel plates, sections, and grades
• Awareness of cutting allowances, kerf, and material optimization principles
• Detail-oriented, disciplined, and efficiency-focused work approach
