CNC Programmer / Machinist

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer/Machinist who can independently take a job from print to final inspection. This is a key position within our shop, supporting work across aerospace, semiconductor, medical device, energy, defense, and high-tech manufacturing sectors.

This role requires a self-driven professional who can program, set up, machine, and inspect parts with minimal supervision while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Equipment & Software

• CNC Machines: Haas Automation, Okuma, Bridgeport
• CAM Software: Mastercam (2024/2025)

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications
• Program parts using Mastercam and optimize toolpaths for efficiency
• Independently set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes
• Select tooling, workholding, and machining strategies
• Make real time program edits and adjustments at the machine to prevent scrap and improve cycle times
• Perform in process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment
• Maintain tight tolerances for high-spec industries (aerospace, medical, semiconductor, etc.)
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues without constant oversight
• Continuously improve processes, programs, and setups
• Manage workload and meet production deadlines
• Collaborate with team members while maintaining ownership of assigned jobs

Qualifications

• 5+ years CNC programming and machining experience (job shop or high mix environment preferred)
• Strong proficiency in Mastercam (recent versions required)
• Proven ability to take parts from print → program → setup → production → inspection independently
• Strong understanding of G-code, speeds/feeds, tooling, and multi-operation workflows
• Experience holding tight tolerances in regulated or high-precision industries
• Strong inspection skills (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.)
• Highly dependable, self-motivated, and accountable

Preferred:

• Experience with multi-axis machining (3+ axis, 4th/5th a plus)
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or medical manufacturing
• Ownership of personal tools (not required)

Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
