CNC Programmer / operator

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Programmer / Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Responsibilities

• Develop and write CNC programs using CAM software such as CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and SolidWorks, ensuring optimal machining strategies for CNC milling machines and CNC lathes.
• Interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings, utilizing GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure precise manufacturing.
• Set up CNC machines by installing tooling, calibrating equipment, and verifying machine parameters in accordance with engineering specifications.
• Operate CNC machinery efficiently while adhering to safety protocols, quality standards, and production schedules.
• Conduct precision measurements using tools like bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments to verify part dimensions.
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues related to electrical discharge machining (EDM), tooling wear, or mechanical malfunctions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize machining processes, reduce waste through lean manufacturing principles, and improve cycle times.

Skills

• Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as Fanuc and CAM programming software for efficient machine operation.
• Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings with an emphasis on GD&T standards.
• Experience operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with mechanical knowledge of tooling setups and machining parameters.
• Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CATIA for designing parts and creating manufacturing plans.
• Understanding of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes for complex or high-precision components.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments including bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision tools.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and minimize waste in production workflows.
