CNC Programmer / Operator / Fabricator

Role Description The CNC Programmer / Operator / Fabricator is a full-time, on-site role based in New Castle, DE. This role is responsible for programming CNC equipment, setting up machines, and operating milling and machining tools to produce components for standard and custom staging systems. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, generating and adjusting CNC programs, selecting tools and materials, performing test runs, and ensuring parts meet quality and safety standards. The role also involves routine equipment maintenance, troubleshooting machining issues, and collaborating with the fabrication and scenic teams to meet project deadlines. The CNC Programmer / Operator / Fabricator is expected to follow all shop safety procedures, maintain a clean and organized work area, and contribute to continuous improvement of production processes.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret, and create Technical Drawings for fabrication and staging components.
• Proficiency in CNC Programming, including writing, modifying, and optimizing programs for production efficiency and accuracy.
• Hands-on experience with Machining and Milling operations, including machine setup, operation, and basic maintenance.
• General Programming skills related to CNC controls, G-code, and relevant software tools.
• Previous experience in metal or wood fabrication, staging, scenic construction, or a related manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail, measurement accuracy, and quality control practices.
• Ability to lift materials, stand for extended periods, and safely operate shop equipment.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with engineers, designers, and fabrication staff.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining, CNC technology, or manufacturing is preferred.
