An established precision engineering business is looking for a technically strong CNC professional to coordinate its programming function and support the delivery of complex machined components.
Working closely with Production and Engineering, you will guide a team of five CNC Programmers, helping to balance workloads, improve machining strategies and maintain high standards across programming and manufacturing operations.
This position offers an opportunity for an experienced programmer with leadership ability to influence technical decisions, develop colleagues and contribute to ongoing improvements in production performance.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Coordinate programming priorities and allocate work across the CNC programming team.

- Use CAD/CAM systems such as hyperMILL, Fusion 360 or equivalent software.

- Review programmes for accuracy, manufacturability and readiness for production.
- Work alongside manufacturing, engineering and quality colleagues to address machining challenges.
- Provide technical support, coaching and knowledge-sharing within the programming team.
- Monitor project deadlines, programming capacity and competing production requirements.
- Assist with the introduction of new components, equipment and manufacturing methods.
- Identify opportunities to improve consistency, productivity and programming standards.
- Maintain appropriate technical documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- Substantial practical experience in CNC programming within a precision manufacturing environment.
- Experience programming multi-axis machining operations, particularly 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining.
- Familiarity with hyperMILL, Fusion 360 or a comparable CAD/CAM platform.
- Strong knowledge of tooling, machining methods and programme optimisation.
- Ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- A methodical approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Experience guiding, training or supervising other CNC professionals.
Candidates currently working as Senior CNC Programmers, Programming Team Leaders or CNC Programming Managers are encouraged to apply, provided they have the relevant technical experience.
What’s on Offer?
- A permanent opportunity within a precision engineering environment.
- Responsibility for supporting and developing an established team of five programmers.
- The opportunity to influence programming standards and manufacturing efficiency.
- Employer support for the visa application process, where required and subject to eligibility.
