CNC Programmer/Operator

Helfrich Brothers is hiring a CNC Programmer/Operator to program, set up, and run large-format milling in our Lawrence, MA machine shop. You write your own Mastercam programs, edit G-code at the Fanuc control, and take jobs from print to finished part.

High-mix, low-volume work. Mostly carbon steel, with some stainless and Inconel.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Overtime available.

Equipment

• Mighty Viper VMC — 80" x 126" x 32" Z
• Lucas HMC — 140" x 118" x 118" Z
• Mighty Viper VTL with live tooling — 100" swing, 60" Z

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, operate, and prove out jobs, including first articles
• Write and optimize Mastercam programs; edit G-code at the control
• Fixture large, heavy parts; select tooling, speeds, feeds, and offsets
• Read drawings (including GD&T) and inspect your own work
• Rig parts with overhead cranes

Qualifications

• Horizontal and vertical CNC milling experience
• Mastercam programming and G-code
• Fanuc control experience
• Large-format fixturing and overhead crane experience
• Ability to read engineering drawings
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift 50 lbs

Preferred

• Pressure vessel or similar heavy-component machining
• Vocational training or apprenticeship
• VTL/lathe experience and strong shop math

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
