CNC Router Operator & Programmer

We are looking for a skilled CNC Router Operator & Programmer to take ownership of our CNC shop. You will program, nest and run our 2 × 4 m CNC router, turning cut files from our design office into accurate parts for our GRP composite fishing vessels and workboats. You will manage the CNC workflow, cutters and jigs, and actively grow the range of parts the yard manufactures on the CNC.

Own the CNC shop: safe daily running of the router, operator maintenance, housekeeping and work instructions.

Manage the CNC workflow issued by the design office: check cut files, revisions and materials, plan the job queue against build priorities, and report progress and issues.

Program and nest parts in CAM software, setting toolpaths, feeds, speeds and vacuum hold-down for plywood, foam core, GRP, plastics and aluminium.

Proactively identify hand-cut or bought-in parts that can move to the CNC, and develop jigs, fixtures and templates that speed up production.

Manage cutters and jigs: maintain the tooling library and jig register, track cutter wear and stock levels, and label and store all jigs.

Inspect parts against drawings, label and kit them by build number, and keep QC records up to date.

Pay: R12 000,00 - R28 000,00 per month
