About Us Carter Bespoke Joinery is a busy, growing artisan workshop based in Yeadon, West Yorkshire. We specialise in crafting high-end, handmade kitchens, in-frame cabinetry, luxury wardrobes, and architectural media walls. We combine traditional joinery craftsmanship with modern production machinery to deliver exceptional, one-off pieces for homes across Yorkshire. We are looking for a skilled Mid-Level CNC Operator to join our tight-knit workshop team.
The Role We are seeking a hands-on CNC Operator who is confident running, setting, and loading flat-bed CNC routers for bespoke timber and sheet material processing. You will work closely with our workshop team to turn design drawings into precise, high-quality components for our luxury furniture lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating and setting CNC nesting routers for cutting timber, MDF, ply, and hardwood components.
- Interpreting technical drawings and CAD/CAM files to ensure accuracy on bespoke projects.
- Performing tool changes, managing tooling offsets, and conducting routine daily machine maintenance.
- Quality checking machined components prior to assembly to maintain our strict standard of finish.
- Assisting with general workshop duties, timber preparation, and conventional woodworking machinery when required.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience operating and setting CNC routers within a furniture, joinery, or cabinet-making environment.
- Solid understanding of timber properties, sheet materials, and edge-banding processes.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed manufacturing and architectural drawings.
- Familiarity with standard CAM software packages.
- High attention to detail and a pride in producing premium, flawless work.
- A proactive, team-focused attitude suited to a small, hands-on workshop environment.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary aligned with experience (£32k – £36k).
- Stable, permanent daytime workshop hours.
- The chance to work on genuinely bespoke, creative projects rather than repetitive mass production.
- A supportive, friendly working environment with a direct, down-to-earth team.
Pay: £15.00-£18.00 per hour
Benefits:
- Casual dress
- On-site parking
Work Location: In person
