Job Title: CNC Setter

Job Purpose

The CNC Setter is responsible for setting up and preparing CNC machines for production according to approved engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.

The role ensures machines, tooling, fixtures and machining parameters are correctly set to achieve required dimensional accuracy, surface finish, productivity and quality standards

Key Responsibilities

• Set up CNC milling and/or turning machines according to production requirements.
• Install and set cutting tools, holders, fixtures, jigs and workpieces.
• Perform machine zero setting, tool offset setting and work coordinate setting.
• Load and verify approved CNC programs before production.
• Conduct machine setup and trial runs for new or repeat production jobs.
• Adjust cutting parameters, offsets and tooling where necessary to maintain machining accuracy.
• Maintain proper control and storage of cutting tools, fixtures and measuring equipment.
• Support CNC Operators during production and troubleshoot machining or setup-related problems.
• Minimize machine setup and changeover time while maintaining quality requirements.

The CNC Operator is responsible for operating CNC machines safely and efficiently to produce precision-machined components that meet customer specifications, quality requirements and production targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling and/or turning machines.
• Load and unload workpieces.
• Conduct in-process dimensional inspections.
• Replace worn cutting tools when instructed.
• Monitor machine performance during production.
• Record production output and downtime.
• Identify non-conforming products immediately.
• Follow work instructions and setup sheets.
• Maintain cleanliness of machines and work area.
• Assist with preventive maintenance activities.
• Comply with ISO quality procedures.
• Follow all safety regulations.
