Hours: Full-time, day shift

Bespoke Career Solutions is recruiting an experienced CNC Setter / Programmer for a specialist engineering manufacturer in the Dudley area.

The company manufactures chains and associated precision components in high volumes for demanding industrial applications. You will be responsible for setting and programming Fanuc-controlled Doosan and Puma CNC lathes, ensuring parts are manufactured accurately, consistently and efficiently.

This position requires someone who can confidently take responsibility for their machines, from interpreting engineering drawings and preparing tooling through to programming, setting and inspecting finished components.

Key Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes
• Working with Doosan and Puma turning machines
• Producing specialist components used in chain manufacturing
• Creating, editing and proving CNC programs
• Setting tools, workholding equipment and machine offsets
• Completing accurate machine changeovers between production runs
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Selecting suitable tooling, speeds, feeds and cutting parameters
• Producing first-off components and completing dimensional checks
• Using verniers, micrometers, gauges and other measuring equipment
• Monitoring machines throughout high-volume production runs
• Making adjustments to maintain accuracy and consistent quality
• Identifying and resolving programming, tooling and machining problems
• Checking finished components against drawings and specifications
• Recording inspection results and completing production paperwork
• Working to production schedules and agreed output targets
• Reducing machine downtime, tooling waste and rejected components
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working area
• Following all quality and health and safety procedures

Skills and Experience Required

To be considered for this position, you must have:

• Previous experience programming and setting CNC lathes
• Practical experience with Fanuc controls
• Experience working with Doosan or Puma CNC lathes
• The ability to program and edit at the machine
• The ability to set machines independently
• Good knowledge of CNC turning and machining processes
• Confidence reading engineering drawings
• Experience using precision measuring equipment
• A good understanding of tooling, offsets, speeds and feeds
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• The ability to maintain quality during high-volume production
• Good attention to detail and a reliable approach to work

Experience within chain manufacturing or another high-volume precision engineering environment would be advantageous.
