CNC Setter/Operator

Job Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC machines for manufacturing brass components as per drawings and specifications.
• Perform machine setting, tool setting, tool offset adjustment, and workpiece alignment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.
• Set up jobs using collets, chucks, fixtures, and other work-holding devices.
• Conduct first-piece inspection and make necessary offset corrections.
• Monitor production quality and maintain required dimensional accuracy.
• Use measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometer, bore gauge, and height gauge.
• Identify and rectify basic machining, tooling, and setting problems.
• Replace worn tools/inserts and optimize tool life where required.
• Maintain production records, tool-setting records, and inspection reports.
• Follow safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and production schedules.

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of CNC machine setting and operation.
• Experience in brass component machining preferred.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T basics.
• Good knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, speeds, and feeds.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Qualification

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or related field preferred.
• Relevant CNC machining experience will also be considered.
