About the Role:

M&S Machine & Tool Co., Inc. is looking for a skilled CNC Setup Operator to join our team in West Haven, CT. Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision machined parts
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders
• Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and workholding equipment
• Input, edit, and optimize CNC programs (G-code/M-code) as needed
• Perform in-process inspection using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
• Monitor machine performance and make offset adjustments to maintain tight tolerances
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with shop standards

Requirements:

• Proven experience setting up and operating CNC milling machines in a production or job shop environment
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical blueprints and GD&T
• Working knowledge of G-code programming and CNC controls (Fanuc)
• Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools and inspection equipment
• Ability to work independently and manage setups with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and tight tolerances
• Experience with a variety of materials including aluminum, steel, and stainless steel preferred
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team-oriented attitude
