CNC Tool Maker

Job Summary

Responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to manufacture precision tooling, fixtures and components used in the production of aerospace parts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborates and works closely with engineers, and other team members to understand project requirements and provide input on tool design and manufacturing processes.
• Writes and optimizes CNC programs to produce tooling, fixtures, and components based on engineering drawings and specifications.
• Uses MasterCam to generate effective 2D and 3D cutter paths.
• Program CNC Mill or Lathe manually using G&M code.
• Create probing routines to establish home positions, part alignment, and part dimensional inspection.
• Set up CNC machines, including loading materials, selecting cutting tools, and configuring machine settings.
• Operate CNC machines to produce high-precision components and monitor the process to ensure accuracy.
• Inspect finished components to ensure they meet quality standards and engineering tolerances.

Qualifications

Qualifications, Experience and Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist.
• Proficiency in CNC programming and operation.
• Proficient with generating 2D and 3D cutter path using Mastercam.
• Strong knowledge of machining techniques and equipment.
• Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting and resolving tooling issues.

Pay: $30.00 - $57.00 per hour
