CNC Turner Setter/Operator

Location: Long Crendon, Buckinghamshire

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week

The Role

We are seeking a CNC Turner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, programming, and operating both Doosan CNC lathes and Star sliding head lathes with FANUC controls, producing high-quality components to tight tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

• Set, program, and operate CNC turning machines
• Read and interpret engineering drawings
• Manufacture components to a high standard and within specified tolerances
• Carry out accurate in-process inspections
• Work with CAD/CAM-assisted programming
• Manage work independently and operate multiple machines when required

Essential Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years' experience programming/ operating CNC lathes (preferably Doosan/ star machines)
• Strong knowledge of FANUC controls and G-code programming
• Ability to confidently read engineering drawings
• Experience machining a variety of metals and plastics
• Excellent understanding of tooling, offsets, feeds, and speeds
• Competent in performing accurate inspections and quality checks
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple machines
• Commitment to producing high-quality work
• Positive, proactive, and can-do attitude

Advantages but not Requirements

· CAD/CAM experience (solidCAM/ ONECNC)

· Familiarity with multi-axis turning centres and live tooling

· Experience with one-off, prototype, and small-batch production

· Knowledge of modern inspection equipment and quality systems
