Role Description The Coach role at SAHLEN SPORTS PARK is a part-time, on-site position located in Elma, NY. The Coach will plan and lead practices, training sessions, and skills clinics that align with program goals and participant skill levels. This role includes teaching fundamental skills, developing game strategies, providing constructive feedback, and fostering sportsmanship and teamwork. The Coach will monitor participant safety, maintain a positive and inclusive environment, and communicate regularly with staff, participants, and families about schedules, expectations, and progress. Additional responsibilities may include helping organize games or events, setting up and breaking down equipment, and collaborating with other coaches and facility staff.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated coaching or instructional experience in organized sports, recreation, or athletic programs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide participants of diverse ages and skill levels.
• Ability to create structured practice plans, teach fundamental techniques, and adjust coaching methods to individual and group needs.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment, including adherence to facility policies and safety procedures.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as program schedules require.
• Basic first aid and CPR certification preferred, or willingness to obtain within a designated timeframe.
• Background in physical education, sports management, or related fields is beneficial but not required.
• Ability to stand, move continuously, and handle sports equipment throughout coaching sessions.
