Coating Operator

Overview

As a Coating Operator, you’ll prepare materials, apply coatings, and inspect finished work to support safe, consistent production. You’ll use coating equipment and hand or power tools, follow production documents, and keep materials moving through the work area. Your impact: Careful surface preparation and coating help customers receive durable, finished products that meet production quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare coating equipment.
• Apply solvent-based coatings to a variety of substrates including films, aluminum, and plastics.
• Inspect finishes for coverage, defects, and color match; use visual color comparison and precision measuring instruments as needed.
• Interpret production documents, perform basic math, and record work according to quality standards in production.
• Handle hazardous materials and use forklifts or cranes when authorized; follow safety protocols and maintain equipment and work areas.

Skills

• Required: Follow personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, including respirator use and respiratory protection practices; adhere to safety protocols.
• Required: Ability to use hand tools and power tools, perform production finishing, and follow written or visual work instructions.
• Preferred: Experience in coating, manufacturing, industrial painting, powder coating, construction painting, or auto painting and auto body repair.
• Preferred: Mechanical knowledge and familiarity with machining, fabrication, assembly, lean manufacturing, warehouse work, or materials handling.
• Experience with coating spray methods, including conventional spraying and airless paint spraying, is helpful.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
